Aims: This course is intended both for students who would like to start learning the language and also caters for others who are already studying English but would like to improve their skills. Course Structure: This is a crash course based on the four basic skills, mainly: reading, writing, listening and conversation. It also includes daily lessons in basic grammar, and several reading/writing/listening/conversational tasks are assigned. This course also focuses on other aspects of the language such as pronunciation, fluency and vocabulary acquisition. Duration &Time Table of Lessons: Course duration may vary according to individual needs. Typically students would have three hours of lessons daily, or four lessons of 45 minutes each. They are also allotted a 15 minute break each day. The first session is usually devoted to grammar, and several related exercises and other writing tasks are assigned; students are also given several reading/listening and conversational tasks to be carried out in class. Students studying English at MLS are given a placement test to determine their level of English and then are split into groups accordingly. Every student is given an MLS workbook on arrival and teachers may use that in class as well as other study material. An end-of-course certificate is given to all participating students. |
