School Ethos

.The main aim of the school is to provide a professional service for students wanting to learn the English language in a friendly and motivating environment.

.The school offers courses based on conversation, reading, writing and listening skills in the English language. Much emphasis is put on the acquiring of English grammatical skills, as well as enriching one's vocabulary.

.Various courses are on offer, which include: General English, Business English, and Conversation classes. Such courses are available at all levels and are intended for students of all ages.

.Courses are tailor-made as far as possible, to suit the individual needs of students and emphasis is made on giving students individual attention during lessons to ensure maximum understanding of the topic covered.

.The maximum number of students in each class is 15 to ensure that individual attention is given to every student in class, and to encourage student participation during lessons. However, mini groups with fewer students, can also be organised.

.One-to-one sessions are available on request at an extra fee.

.Students follow lessons that are based on the MLS workbooks as well as several text books. They are provided with the workbook at the commencement of the course. Students are also given various reading, writing, listening and conversation tasks related to the lesson.

.On arrival, students are given a test to assess their English language ability and consequently are distributed in classes accordingly. In the near future, students will also have the option to do the placement test online, prior to their arrival to Malta. Classes may range from beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced levels.

.During lessons, students are given ample time to practise what was learnt and to ask related questions.

.At the end of the course, students are given a performance certificate.

.Where viable, students are divided into groups, not only according to their level, but also according to their age-group. This is subject to student availability.

.The school's main aim is to provide an excellent learning experience for the student. Although much emphasis is placed on learning the English language, other educational experiences are offered in the form of excursions. Such excursions are held to suit all types and ages of students. The school organises cultural activities such as visits to historical and archaeological sites and to museums, the capital city of Valletta and the old capital Mdina, and other such places of interest. Other excursions include boat trips and day trips to Comino and Gozo, which are not only extremely enjoyable, but also provide new learning ground for students. As already heightened, the school's main ethos is to provide various opportunities for students to enjoy themselves and to learn at the same time. Such excursions are not only enjoyable but also provide an opportunity to learn new English vocabulary and to acquire information about the rich history and culture of the Maltese islands. Other excursions, such as visits to the several beaches around the island, spending a day at Malta’s water park, going to discos and so on, are also organized by the school. The school ethos is mainly based on providing learning opportunities in every situation. Consequently, such a holiday would serve not only for students to enjoy themselves, but also to master the English language and to learn about the general cultural and historical background of the Maltese islands.
